Installing SoundStop® Underlayment in a typical floor system.

Finished flooring: 5/16" laminated flooring is laid to avoid seams with SoundStop® Underlayment.

Sub-flooring: 3/4" tongue and groove wood structural panel sub-floor. SoundStop® Underlayment is laid over sub-floor with no fasteners or adhesives, avoiding shared seams. If sub-floor is mineral based (e.g. concrete), a 2mm moisture barrier is recommended.

Framing: 2" x 10" floor joists, 16" o.c.

Ceiling: 5/8" Type X Gypsum wall board with seams taped.
