Knight-Celotex Fiberboard
Knight-Celotex is green.

Knight-Celotex fiberboard is a natural product consisting of bio-based, secondary raw materials (wood chip or sugarcane fibers) recovered from within 100 miles of manufacturing facilities. The binding agent used in the making of Knight-Celotex fiberboard is also an all-natural product, consisting of vegetable starch containing no added formaldehydes.

The manufacturing process of Knight-Celotex fiberboard is specially designed to be environmentally friendly and accommodating, minimizing post-industrial waste by actively recycling waste materials back into the process.

By running dryer exhaust through a Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO), Volatile Organic Compound (VOC’S) emissions are reduced 97%. Closed water cooling systems are also utilized in the manufacturing process, effectively preventing the release of process water, while also allowing for water conservation.  These combined systems prevent the release of substances listed on the EPA’s Toxic Release inventory and guard against liquid pollution.

Efforts made by Knight-Celotex to protect the environment meet criteria for points in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), United States Green Building Council (USGBC) guidelines (LEED credits), Model Green Home Building Guidelines and the Green Globes™ assessment system.
